China Council for International Cooperation on Environment and Development - CCICED
CCICED is an international research project on environment and development. CCICED's teams of international and Chinese experts and researchers conduct studies that serve as the foundation for annual policy recommendations to the Government of China.
The China Council for International Cooperation on Environment and Development (CCICED) was established in 1992.
Consisting of leading international and Chinese experts, researchers, and senior officials, CCICED is a high-level advisory body with a mandate to conduct research and provide policy recommendations to the Government of China on environment and development.
CCICED meets once a year at an annual general meeting (AGM) to consider the reports of special policy study groups that explore a wide range of issues relating to environment and sustainable development. These topics range from climate change mitigation and nature protection to pollution prevention, the management of oceans and rivers, sustainable finance, trade, investment, supply chains, and more.
At the conclusion of each AGM, drawing from the annual reports and insights from its Chief Advisors, CCICED generates a set of environment and development policy recommendations to the Chinese Government.
IISD manages CCICED's Secretariat International Support Office (SISO), providing support to its international experts and international research activities.
