Vance Culbert

Senior Policy Advisor & Secretariat Manager, COFFIS

Vance Culbert is a Senior Policy Advisor with IISD’s Energy Program. He works on promoting solutions for an equitable transition away from fossil fuel production and aligning the energy sector with Paris Agreement targets.
 
Vance has over 20 years of experience leading development and humanitarian programs with a broad range of civil society actors and UN agencies. He has extensive experience in international policy processes, steering intergovernmental policy discussions toward agreement and implementation. Vance has worked extensively across the Middle East, Africa, and Latin America and was a founding board member of Climate and Sustainability.
 
At IISD, Vance supports research projects in the energy field and advances practical solutions to fossil fuel production phase-out through coalition building and the use of economic drivers for a just transition. 
 
Based in Geneva, Vance speaks English, French, and Spanish.
