Webinar: Climate-Related Financial Risk Disclosure
Presenters Céline Bak, Founder & President of Analytica Advisors, an advisor to the CDP, and Senior Associate at IISD, and Michael Zimonyi, Policy & External Affairs Manager of the CDSB Secretariat, will give an in-depth exploration of climate-related financial risk disclosure.
Climate Action Network Canada has an upcoming webinar-workshop on 'Climate-Related Financial Risk Disclosure' taking place Tuesday, January 29 at 10 am Eastern Standard Time.
In this webinar, CAN-Rac hosts a training session on the Taskforce on Climate-Related Risk Disclosure (TCFD) with members of CDP, formerly the Carbon Disclosure Project, and the Climate Disclosure Standards Board.
At the foundation of the TCFD recommendations is the need for corporations to disclose on a quarterly basis, through financial statements that are subject to auditing, any risk that poses a material risk to its business. What is viewed as material has emanated from "information that an average investor would deem to be relevant to making investment decision". In essence, materiality depends on what investors think is material; in order for climate-related risks to be considered material, it is critical that citizens have a basic level of knowledge and understanding of climate-related risks.
Join presenters Céline Bak, Founder & President of Analytica Advisors, an advisor to the CDP, and Senior Associate at IISD, and Michael Zimonyi, Policy & External Affairs Manager of the CDSB Secretariat, for this in-depth exploration of climate-related financial risk disclosure.
Webinar presentations are in English, the Q&A parts will be facilitated in both French and English. You can ask questions in both languages.
