This training workshop on the legal and policy aspects of contract farming is being co-organized by the International Institute for Sustainable Development (IISD) and the Asian Farmers' Association for Sustainable Rural Development (AFA). It is being held in Bangkok, Thailand, from October 28-30, 2019.
This training workshop on the legal and policy aspects of contract farming is being co-organized by the International Institute for Sustainable Development (IISD) and the Asian Farmers' Association for Sustainable Rural Development (AFA). It is being held in Bangkok, Thailand, from October 28-30, 2019.
The workshop is designed to provide participants with an opportunity to discuss the opportunities, risks, and options involving contract farming, with a focus on the legal and policy aspects. Participants will review, among other items, training materials and research prepared by the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO) and IISD. There will also be presentations involving case studies, as well as sessions on negotiating skills and principles, among others.
