CRiSTAL Forests User's Manual
In partnership with CIFOR and C3D+, IISD has developed CRiSTAL Forests, a decision-support tool to help design local climate adaptation options in contexts where people's livelihoods depend highly on forest ecosystem services.
This manual guides users through the five analytical steps of CRiSTAL Forests: understanding the livelihoods, forests and ecosystem services context; analysis of climate risk; the revision of existing project activities; the design of new project activities; and the assessment of greenhouse gas mitigation and REDD+ potentials. It provides detailed explanations on each step along with hints and links to other tools and resources.
