Aligning Recovery with the Energy Transition: Five principles for a “fossil-free recovery”
The International Institute for Sustainable Development (IISD) has developed five principles to achieve a fossil-free recovery. In this virtual workshop, a side session to the Green Economy Coalition (GEC) Global Meeting 2021, speakers will present these principles, providing the example of Indonesia, and open the discussion to evaluate what is needed to achieve a green recovery in practice.
The workshop will start with brief presentations on why it is important to look at recovery under the “fossil-free” lens followed by an introduction to the five principles. It will then focus on the example of Indonesia, a country that has important sustainability targets and will hold the G20 Presidency in 2022. Finally, the moderator will facilitate an open discussion among participants.
This event is organized by IISD as part of the Green Economy Coalition (GEC) Global Meeting 2021.
